Re-cap
Today’s theme was a nod to my all boys class, "A Hike in the Woods”. One of my students’ favorite things to do with his family is to go for a hike in the Las Trampas hills and feed bread to fish in the stream. We started with a picture we each created that included the elements we would practice in our yoga session today. This was definitely a leg strengthening class. Ask your child to show you their picture and see if they can re-create our 17 pose yoga flow from today. We took our dog and the first thing we saw was a lot of frogs. Hopping to the music of “Who Let the Frogs Out?” we collected plastic tree frogs, and then pretended to be sticky toed tree frogs. Every time the music stopped, we had to stick to the closest piece of furniture. Well, there were 15 more poses in between on our imaginary hike, but we finished our yoga with a Savasana using blankets and rainforest music, awakening with an essential oil blend called Citris Bliss-to bring peace and joy to the heart. As soon as those oils are rubbed on, I don’t have to tell them to breathe deeply, and they exhale pure Ahhhhhhh. Great for the few of us who are suffering with colds today!
Class Highlight:
The kids all LOVE choosing their breathing buddies each week. Little beanie babies we use for breathing techniques and games. Today the frog was the personal favorite.

Type in Yoga on Pandora and come up with some relaxing music for a 5 minute relaxation/meditation for transitioning from one activity to the next. For example, after sports practice and before starting homework. Lie on your back with all your limbs relaxed, not in a sleep position curled up on your side (that’s what they always want to do, but they will fall asleep on me:)
